Lauren Streicher, md
Dr. Streicher is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, she completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. She is currently a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University’s medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine. She is the founder and medical director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Menopause and the Northwestern Medicine Center for Sexual Health. The Center is divided into four clinical programs: The Program for Menopause, The Program for Sexual Medicine, The Program for Women’s Bone Health, and the Program for Vulvar and Vaginal Health.
Her clinical interests include all aspects of women’s health but Dr. Streicher has a particular interest and expertise in menopause and sexual health. In addition to her interest in consumer outreach and education, Dr. Streicher is considered an expert in the academic world. She does research, publishes in the scientific literature, lectures at medical conferences, and devotes significant time to teaching residents and medical students.
Dr. Streicher is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Inc., The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and The Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health and Cancer. She is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner of The North American Menopause Society. Castle Connolly, US News and World Report, and Chicago Magazine have consistently recognized her as one of the “Top Doctors” in the United States and she was featured in an article in Chicago Magazine's Top Doc issue.
